Whether it’s just the two of you or a group – Cottage Escapes offers you the chance to get away from it all in the heart of the Lake District or settled on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors and Coast.

From our humble beginnings, we have developed a range of holiday let brands (some of which you may have come across, such as Cumbrian Cottages, Yorkshire Cottages, Northumbrian Cottages and Scottish Cottages). But time moves on and so do we and today we are a team who shares over two decades of experience coining a collection of Lake District and North Yorkshire holiday cottages with character.

The Cottage Escapes journey began in 2007; when we purchased an incredibly sad and dilapidated flat in central Keswick. Which we fully refurbished to become our inaugural and ever-popular 4-star Cumbrian hideaway, Marley’s Den.

From there we progressed with our loyal team of tradesmen to restore all of our properties to their original beauty and build a collection of cottages dotted across some of the most stunning Lake District countryside and breath-taking North Yorkshire coastline, from hikers-havens Threlkeld and Windermere to sand-swept Whitby and Staithes.

We are proud to say that all of our properties have received a 4 or 5-star rating from Visit England and some of our newest retreats can be found at Thirley Cotes Farm. A collection of Grade II listed self-catering properties close to the seaside town of Scarborough. Surrounded by 21 acres of manicured grounds complete with wildlife and woodland and sleeping 2 – 42 guests across 8 traditional yet contemporary country-coastal cottages complete with private hot tub and enclosed stone garden.

Our office is also based on-site, so staff are always on hand to welcome you and generally point you in the right direction and each of the properties comes complete with a welcome pack for you and your four-legged friends – and no hidden fees or extras when you book directly through our website.
