In the area

Located in one of the most peaceful parts of the Lake District (to the north of the River Greta). But only a short jaunt from the centre of Keswick.

There’s plenty of things to see and do in the bustling market town and the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and cycling. While an array of independent shops and tea rooms are perfect for picking up local goodies.

Walla Crag and Derwentwater are both lovely spots on the doorstep (full of pathways to explore by foot, water or two wheels) and Blencathra and Lonscale Fell are nearby. Or for those seeking a little more adventure, why not take to the steep slopes of Skiddaw.

Derwentwater via Walla Crag

For the most spectacular views of the lake and a pleasant shoreline stroll, this route will not disappoint. The summit of Walla Crag is a wonderful vantage point for panoramic views across the local area and experiencing just how breath-taking the surrounding scenery can be

Elmcot is one of the best self catering holiday cottages we have stayed in and we tend to be quite fussy! It was exceptionally clean with no trace of any previous canine residents and the beds were lovely and comfy (the shower in the en suite was a fantastic bonus). The location is great; taking only 10 minutes to walk to the centre of Keswick with our 3 year old and elderly dog

LC

A lovely property with everything you would need and very convenient location wise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would book again this year, but unfortunately it seems to be completely full. Which is not a surprise!
